Childbirth Education
Learning how your body works to birth a baby plays a very important role in reducing fear and empowering your choices not only during birth - but as a parent as well. The International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics preformed a study “The impact of childbirth education classes on delivery outcome” in 2020 that states, “Participation in childbirth classes has a positive impact on pregnancy outcome.” and says that patients who attended had higher vaginal birth rates and lower intervention rates.
Birth Doula
Being a birth doula is what got me into the birth world. It is an immense honor to be asked to be in the birthing room with a family, and it’s a job I take seriously.
As your doula I meet with you prenatally to get to know you and what your birth goals are. I am your confidant and biggest supporter. I honor your wishes. I offer resources and educational materials to help you make informed decisions that are what is best for YOU and your family.
Postpartum Doula
After having a very hard postpartum with my first son, I became very interested in becoming a more active postpartum doula. I truly understood the importance of having someone I could trust to ask questions and help me around the house. As a postpartum doula I assist with newborn care, basic household chores, and questions you may have about your new baby. However, I prioritize your healing and mental health. With my experience as a birth doula, I am there to process your birth with you as well.
Date with a Doula
Maybe you are having a scheduled ceserean and are not interested in hiring a doula for her full package, maybe you have a lot of support from others and just want to pick a doula’s brain. There are many reasons you may not want to hire a doula for her full range of services . Date with a doula means we meet in a casual, private setting, and you ask whatever is on your mind!
This one hour package is $35 and is different (and much more in depth) than the free consultation included in the birth doula package.
Birth Plan Creation Meeting
This is a two hour consultation where we create your birth plan to best help you achieve your goals for birth. I bring templates to go over, but we create yours individually throughout the class. I am there to answer any questions you have about birth and immediate postpartum.
We go over hospital protocols, what you can decline (and how to say it), as well as what to do if you have to deviate from your birth plan.
At the end we briefly go over comfort measures.
This meeting is $40.
Support Group
I host a postpartum support group the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 10-11:15 AM at the Prairie Du Chien Pubic Library. Join other mother’s walking the same journey as you. We are all in this together and need to uplift and support one another. Come and talk about the transition into motherhood and ask any questions you may have. This is a safe environment you can bring your new baby to. If you’re pregnant and want to attend, feel free to stop by! Tea and water will be provided.
