Comfort Measures

Is your goal to go without the epidural, but you don’t feel prepared to “ride the waves”? This is a two hour class full of ways to relax, distract, and cope through labor. We talk about when to use certain comfort measures, what to do if labor is longer than expected, how to deal with a malpositioned baby, and how your labor team can support your goals.

Whoever will be attending your birth is invited to come learn how they can support you during labor. This is a great class for subsequent births if you did not feel prepared during your first birth. However, anyone is welcome!

Homebirth Prep

Homebirth is a very different birthing experience than birthing in the hospital or birth center. There is more preparation in regards to supplies, expectations, and coping in labor without the use of pain medication. It is a beautiful way to bring your baby into this world.

In this one day, five hour class, we will cover the phases and stages of labor, in-depth comfort measures, what you need for your birth, who should (and shouldn’t) be at your birth, newborn procedures, unexpected hospital transfers, recovery, and the 4th trimester.
